The Rotunda Welcomes Author
Saturday, December 8, 2012, Bernadene Davis dazzled her audience at The Rotunda, with poems from her current book, Substance of Life. The collection of poetry was primarily written in her adolescent years, but the audience, young and old, were able to find their own experiences in her writings.
What Substance is Your Life?
There was a spread of culinary delights in the room. Food was not the only substance in the room. Women of diverse backgrounds gathered for a workshop at the Philadelphia School District's Parent University. Facilitator and self-published author, Bernadene Davis, read from her debut book of poetry,
Substance of Life. She presented the six areas of the human experience, and how they contribute to the "substance" of our lives. The workshop was so successful, a women's group was born out of that workshop.
The first meeting of the Women's group will be held Wednesday April 3, 2013, from 4-6 P.M. Interested parties, can sign up at
www.philasd-parentuniversity.org or call
215-400-4180.

They Went By Two
Great Commission's CEO and founder, Ms. Sybil Bell, teamed up with Bernadene Davis, CEO of Rhema Publishing Company LLC, for the Maternity Care Coalition's "Love From Inside Out" MOMObile event.
The presenters discussed ways to love yourself, moving away from negative people and circumstances, persuing your dreams, lifeskills, and higher education.
Roneisha Kendrick, guest speaker and daughter of Ms. Bell, spoke to the attendees about her own journey to learning to love herself, and the positive changes she has been able to make in her life because of it.
The two women gave away books and even a diamond necklace to participants. The workshop was held in Delaware County on Friday, February 8, 2013. Food and conversation was had by all afterwards. This celebration was enjoyed by all.
